PLANT HAMILTON

U.S. Headquarters - Hamilton, OH

BILSTEIN’s main production facility North American production facility is located at our U.S. Headquarters in Hamilton, OH. At this location, we produce highly engineered semi-active and passive monotube shock absorbers for high-performance automobiles, motorsports and off-road vehicles. This 24/7 facility uses the newest technology to assemble shock absorber production for three separate, yet integral, consumer groups – Original Equipment (OE), Aftermarket (AM) and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV). We have three buildings on our Hamilton Campus: the Main Plant, the BILSTEIN Technical Center (BTC) and the brand new 156,000 square foot BILSTEIN Logistics Center (BLC).

OE assembly of our shock absorbers is sectioned into four distinct areas within our Main Plant: Tube Department, Main Assembly, Paint Line, and Final Assembly housing over 300 seasoned BILSTEIN employees.

Tube Department — the beginning of it all. Tubes are machined and welded to accommodate various sizes, lengths and fittings.

Main Assembly — the heart of production. Bilsteiners work alongside of the automation to ensure the performance of every shock absorber we manufacture.

Paint Line — brings our products to life. Each shock absorber is painted through the use of an electrostatic paint process and inspected to perfection.

Final Assembly — the finishing touches. Final testing is performed before being packaged and set for pickup by the customer.

AM, located next to OE, houses 100 employees whose watchful eyes guarantee superior quality throughout each step of the assembly process. BILSTEIN shocks can easily be identified on our production floor and on shelves by their iconic yellow BILSTEIN paint and signature blue dust boots.

SPV is a newer addition to the BILSTEIN organization. Established in 2011, SPV designs and assembles shocks for service trucks and ground systems for the defense industries. Our damper technology on these vehicles stand up to the most rigorous operating conditions and demanding terrain.

Supporting each of our assembly areas are highly skilled and trained professionals in Occupational Safety & Health, Logistics, Quality, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Maintenance, Sales and Human Resources.
